In August 2015 The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland left Glencorse barracks in Edinburgh to begin an eight month deployment to Kabul. For many of us, it was a familiar journey back to Afghanistan where the British army has been operating since 2004.
