ARMY SCRIPTURE READER
FOR PIRBRIGHT AND WELLINGTON BARRACKS
Roddy Macleod
My name is Roddy Macleod and I come from the lovely Island of Lewis on the West Coast of Scotland. I am married to a very lovely lady called Esther, she is from Singapore and was a piper in the Singapore police pipe band. During my military service, I served with the First Battalion Queens Own Highlanders for six years. I served in Scotland, Kenya, Belize, Germany, Canada, Northern Island, and Kuwait during the first gulf war. I left the military in 1991 and worked in a civilian sector until the Lord called me to SASRA in c2005. I was converted after leaving the military by the Lord bringing my Christian up-bringing to life. Everything that my parents and many others taught me about our glorious Saviour became real and I urgently started to search for God. He graciously answered my prayer and I found stability and joy and freedom, and life in abundance, then c1998. Later I received a call to SASRA and felt the Lord’s leading to apply for the post of Scripture Reader which I did and was formally accepted into the ranks May 2006. I have been working at ATC Pirbright, amongst recruits mainly, since then. I am aware daily of the Lord’s enabling and strength as I serve Him here. He doesn’t call the equipped but equips the called. Praise God!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6(NIV)
