I began work for SASRA in December 2013 as Area Representative for the South East, after being an active supporter of the ministry for twelve years. I moved down from Nottingham with my husband, Mike (not forgetting our dog “Salty”) in order to take up the position. In November 2014, I changed roles and moved into the Head Office as Communications Officer, which was a new post within SASRA.
My own family background is one of a long tradition of military service, and I am proud of my grandfather’s award of the MC.
Mike and I have five sons, our youngest serving in the Grenadier Guards (one of our older sons had also served in the same regiment.). We found SASRA to be a great support during our youngest son’s Afghanistan deployments, especially through the SASRA prayer group I attended in Nottingham and through SASRA’s ”Deployment Support” - a role filled by ASR Paul Leonard.
I have a passion to see more local SASRA prayer groups being established within our supporting churches and “supporter base”. I also have a strong desire to see the work of SASRA proclaimed and communicated within The Body of Christ, giving opportunity to the Church through prayer and support, to join in the task of taking the gospel message to the men and women of our Armed Forces.
