I was born in Dartford, Kent and grew up in Southport in Lancashire. I was brought up in the Anglican tradition but was saved when I heard the gospel of Jesus Christ as a teenager attending a Methodist Church.
I left school with no qualifications at the age of fifteen and became an apprentice mechanic after which I spent some years at sea before joining the Royal Air Force, serving for nine years as a Ground Equipment Technician.
In 2009 I took on the role of Area Representative for SASRA covering North London & East of England.
I married Jane in 1982 and we have three children and two grandchildren.
